It’s sale time again, and there are plenty of bargains to be had on Plus-Size.me. Unsurprisingly most of the big designers, like Evans and Yours,  have kicked off their Christmas/New Year sales.

Before you go mad though, it’s worth sitting down and making a list of things you actually need, and things that are well worth investing in.

For me, there are a few classic items worth splashing out on.

The Classic coat/jacket

Every year I look for classic coats that adapt to a variety of different outfits, whilst adding something new to the look overall.

This coat on the left is the Plus Size Fuller Figure Black Pleat Detail P U Belted Coat from Yours (£30 down from £55) is exactly what I’m looking for to achieve the ideal hourglass look of the 1950s. The belt will cinch in your waist, whilst the flared skirt glides over any problem areas like your bum or tum.

The Classic Boots

Invest in a decent pair of boots, and your feet will thank you for the rest of the year.

These Plus Size Contrast Stitch Boots on the right are from Evans (£40 down from £80) and have that slightly distressed look that make them look a little bit vintage. Evans are well known for producing boots that fit a wider calf, so you don’t have to worry about post Christmas blues in these!

The Classic bag

Don’t even think about picking up a teeny tiny bag this year. You want a bag that you could literally fit your kitchen sink into. Basically, if it’s not a suitable mobile home for your chihuahua, it’s not worth having.
